PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER

The Nurse Practitioner provides treatment services to children and adults with mental illness and addictive conditions at the Otsego County Mental Health Clinic and Forensic Program in Oneonta, NY. YOUTH WORKER FOR RESPITE PROGRAM
Full-time (35 hours per week) or Part-Time (21-25 hours) position available working one on one with children in Ulster County. Position will provide care to children who have social emotional, behavioral needs. Worker will provide the families with respite by involving the children in structured recreational and skill building activities. Position hours include some early evening and weekend hours. Candidates need experience in working with children, knowledge of issues that children confront and flexibility. Paid training and on-going supervision provided. Position requires a clean, valid NYS drivers license and candidate must have at least 3 years driving experience.
RESIDENCE COUNSELOR HUD– PT
MHA in Ulster County, Inc. has a PT (22.5hrs/week) position available in our HUD funded permanent supportive apartment program. Responsibilities include assisting six consumers in completing activities of daily living, including cleaning and other household chores, cooking, banking, laundry and grocery shopping, supervising medication administration, facilitating activities and completing required paperwork. Hours are Sunday 10am-6pm, Monday-Thursday 4pm-8pm. Applicants must be able to work independently. Position requires High School Diploma or GED. Candidate must have a clean, valid NYS Drivers License and have been driving for at least 3 years.
SITE SUPERVISOR-Adult Residential
MHA in Ulster County, Inc. is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual to join our 13 bed community residence as a Site Supervisor. Responsibilities include but not limited to: planning and implementing a rehabilitative program and/or individually designed service plans for adults with mental illness and secondary problems in chemical abuse, overseeing the day to day operation, coordinating services with Ulster County Mental Health and other outside agencies, supervision of staff and providing a safe environment for the residents in the program. This is a full time (37.5 hours a week) position, which includes day and some evening hours and on-call coverage. Qualified individuals will have a Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Human Services, 3 years of experience in human services and 2 years supervisory experience. Experience working with adults recovering from mental illness or problems of chemical abuse necessary. Requires a clean, valid NYS driver license and have been driving for at least 3 years.
WELLNESS RESOURCE COORDINATOR
MHA in Ulster County, Inc. has a full time position (35 hours per week) working as an advocate and liaison for adults with mental illness. The Wellness Resource Coordinator will assist individuals in connecting with human service providers within the community and provides ongoing assistance with referrals for additional services as needed. This role provides direct wellness services and assists in implementing discharge plans and structure for post-treatment services. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing is essential. Knowledge of planning, screening, counseling and advocacy is preferred. A Master’s Degree in a Human Service related field preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service field and 2 years experience or Associate’s Degree/High school diploma or equivalent and 4 years experience in human services is acceptable. Requires a clean and valid NYS driver license and have been driving for at least 3 years.
RECREATION COUNSELOR
Mental Health Association in Ulster County, Inc. seeks a full-time (35 hours per week) recreation counselor to assist in implementing a rehabilitative program for adults with psychiatric disabilities and adults with MRDD. Both programs include opportunities for socialization, education, daily living skills, recreation and advocacy activities. Position schedule is Tuesday-Saturday. An Associate’s degree in a Human Services field or high school diploma or equivalent with 3 years experience in human services required. Must obtain a clean, valid NYS driver license and have been driving for at least 6 years. Knowledge of Ulster County & surrounding counties a plus. Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
PROGRAM DIRECTOR-FAMILY BASED TREATMENT PROGRAM
MHA in Ulster County is seeking a full-time Director for The Harbour Program, working out of the Walton, NY office. The Progam serves 20 children in four counties with severe emotional, social and behavioral disabilities, providing therapeutic Family Based Treatment, respite and family support services. Director is responsible for all aspects of the program, including public relations, interagency coordination, program development, program budget, overseeing medicaid billing, staff supervision, quality assurance, preparation of all reports, etc. Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service related field required. A minimum of 3 years experience in Mental Health management and staff supervision essential. Must have clean, valid NYS driver license and have been driving for at least 3 years.
MENTAL HEALTH RN
MHA in Ulster County, Inc. is seeking a FT Registered Nurse to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The ACT team provides intensive mental health treatment, in a multi-disciplinary mobile team model, to 48 adults in Ulster County with a diagnosis of serious mental illness, and possible substance abuse problems. This position is primarily Monday-Friday, 9a.m.-5p.m. Rotating call coverage is required. The nurse will conduct psychosocial assessments; assess physical health needs; make appropriate medical referrals; provide management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist. Qualifications are a current NYS licensure as a Registered Nurse, experience in Mental Health nursing required, and a clean, valid NYS driver license and have been driving for 3 years.
ADULT RESIDENCE COUNSELOR (On-Call)
MHA in Ulster County, Inc. has several on-call positions available in residential programs working with adults recovering from mental illness who may also have substance abuse problems. Residence Counselors provide support and guidance, teach life skills, and prepare individuals with mental illness and/or substance abuse issues to live more independently in the community. Prior experience with this population is a plus. Candidates must have a minimum of a high school diploma and a clean, valid NYS driver license and have been driving for at least 3 years.
